Safeguarding the public from immigration fraud - Hashtag #FPM2025
In March 2025, College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC) launches a new Fraud Prevention Month campaign to help protect prospective immigrants to Canada. To know more, use the hashtag #FPM2025 on LinkedIn (www.linkedin.com/company/77031166/), X ( x.com/College_IC), Instagram (www.instagram.com/collegeicc/), Facebook (www.facebook.com/CollegeICC) and YouTube (www.youtube.com/CICC-CCIC). The theme of this year’s campaign is - "Immigration fraud can be hard to spot".
We at Pretzel encourage people who wish to immigrate to Canada by working with a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) to check the CICC’s Public Register to verify that they are not falling prey to a fraud by an Unauthorized Practitioner (UAP). A UAP is a person who illegally provides Canadian immigration consultation for a fee without having a license from CICC, Canadian Law Society, or The Chambre Des Notaires du Québec. The campaign will run in English, French, Hindi, Punjabi, Arabic and Simplified Chinese, both in Canada and in 16 of the top source countries for immigration to Canada.
