Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as kinesiology or science is required before entering a Master’s program in Physiotherapy.
  • A Master's degree in physiotherapy and must join physiotherapy programs that include a significant amount of practical, hands-on training through internships or clinical placements, where students work directly with patients under supervision.
  • After completing the educational and training requirements, you must pass the Physiotherapy Competency Examination (PCE), which is required to become licensed.
  • Physiotherapists must register with the regulatory body in the province or territory where they intend to practice.

Main Duties

  • Educate patients on proper posture, movement mechanics, injury prevention, and ways to manage or prevent reoccurring injuries.
  • Keep detailed records of patient progress, modify treatment plans as needed, and provide regular updates to healthcare teams or insurance companies.
