Atlantic Immigration Program – Work and Settle in Atlantic Canada

The Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) is one of the most attractive immigration pathways for skilled workers, entrepreneurs, and their families. It is a unique initiative designed to address labor shortages in four Atlantic provinces of Canada: New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island. The AIP is an opportunity for individuals with specific skills or education to settle in Canada’s Atlantic region. Also, it helps enhance local economies while offering newcomers an excellent quality of life. Navigating the overall immigration process can be difficult, but with the help of Pretzel Immigration Private Limited, you can achieve your dream of living and working in Canada. • Over the past 5 years, the candidate must have worked at least 1,560 hours.
  • Educational criteria
    • For NOC TEER category 0 or 1 job offers, the applicant must have a 1-year post-secondary educational credential or higher (or the equivalent outside of Canada)
    • For NOC TEER category 2, 3, or 4 job offers, the applicant must have a Canadian High School Diploma (or the equivalent outside of Canada)
  • Language criteria
    • The applicants need level 5 Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) or Niveaux de compétence linguistique canadiens (NCLC) for NOC TEER category 0 or 1 job offers.
    • The applicants need level 4 CLB or NCLC for NOC TEER category 2, 3, or 4 job offers.
  • Enough settlement funds.

Procedure To Follow While Applying For The Atlantic Immigration Program

The Atlantic Immigration Program application process is simple but demands meticulous attention to detail.

  • Choose from three main streams under the AIP; Atlantic High-Skilled Program, Atlantic Intermediate-Skilled Program, and Atlantic International Graduate Program.
  • Obtain a valid job offer from an employer designated by the province where the job is located.
  • Get endorsement from the Provincial Government, which means the Atlantic province where your employer is located will assess your application and, if you meet their criteria, issue a Provincial Endorsement.
  • Once you have the provincial endorsement, you can apply for permanent residency through Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) which involves submitting the required documents, including proof of language proficiency, education, and work experience.
  • Once you receive approval for permanent residency, you and your family can begin to plan to move to any one of the Atlantic provinces.
